ClaimAssessment.com.au is owned and operated by Fort Lawyers Pty Ltd (ABN 18 663 051 661), an incorporated legal practice in New South Wales ("we", "us"). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and — where you become a client — our professional duties of confidentiality, which are stricter still.
When you use the claim check or contact us, we collect what you choose to give us: your name, phone number, preferred language, suburb, and your answers about your accident and injuries. We also keep routine technical records (such as the time of your enquiry and the IP address it came from) for security.
By submitting the form you ask us to contact you by phone, SMS or WhatsApp about your claim. You can withdraw that consent at any time by telling us.
We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We do not pass your details to other law firms, marketers or "claim referral" services — trading claim referrals is prohibited in NSW and we are the law practice handling your enquiry ourselves.
Your enquiry is delivered to our office email and stored on our secure hosting environment. We disclose personal information only to people who help us run your matter in the ordinary way (for example, interpreters or medical experts once you are a client), or where the law requires it.
You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing info@fortlawyers.com.au or calling (02) 8006 0110. If you have a privacy complaint, contact us first; you may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
